14 days to go to Christmas; 18 days until we leave. And now I start the proper research.

The challenge is this: how to create a trip that is enjoyable, educational and meets the needs of a 6 year old boy, a 34 year old man, and family? An interesting quandary indeed.

So here are some of the areas or trips that we are considering:

• Arthur’s Pass (one for the scenic route)
• Whale watching at Kaikora
• Mud bathing at Rotorua
• New Plymouth
• Sailing in Auckland.

Ummm… that’s about it so far. An suggestions?
