This week, we see three sites is dedicated to Russ: Parenting. Fashion. And golf. What more could our illustrious Head of Digital Design want?

Parenting sites for non-parents (http://www.savvyauntie.com/)
I came across an acronym earlier this week which describes a couple of friends with alarming accuracy – the rise of the PANK (Professional Aunts with No Kids). This site is meant for all you “ladies who are totally mad for your nieces or nephews, friends’ kids, whatever….and just want a place online where you can talk about them (and yes totally show them off!) and feel safe to ask questions about kids, their health, nutrition, even what they’re into these days – without having to go to a mom and feeling unsavvy!”
The site is nicely executed, with lots of engaging content; more importantly the site identifies with a specific target audience that hasn’t really been catered for (although I can’t for the life of me think why not.) So here’s the question – if you were thinking about career choices, would you discuss them with your aunt?
Avatar fashion for the real world (http://www.gaiaonline.com/)
We’ve discussed to death the endless possibilities created by virtual worlds. Now we are starting to see the virtual world encroaching on the real world (get’s confusing, doesn’t it?) Virtual world Gaia has begun selling real-world fashion on its site, and one can’t help but wonder how long it will be before Second Life and other popular virtual worlds starts experimenting with something similar. From there, of course, the next natural step will be to let users sell their real-life creations for real-world money, just as they can currently sell their virtual ones.
Golf Games
Golfers are an odd bunch – a category in their own when it comes to Tourism and Travel advertising. These people will pay inordinate amounts for a two week holiday to a beautiful location and spend the entire time playing golf, eating and drinking. Or will get up at the crack of dawn to wander round a blustery wet course in the name of competitiveness. It got me to thinking, when we are targeting lifestyle sites, do we ever cater for this category??? Mainstream marketers and advertisers certainly do…
Anyhow, Russ wanted some golf sites, so here goes: http://www.justgolfgames.com/ ; http://www.gamegecko.com/officeminigolf.php ; http://www.everybodys-golf.com/
